Born from the desire to do it right, do it differently, and do it creatively, Mavis + Roots has blossomed out of an undying ambition and passion to better understand the creative powers that shape our world.
Inclusive of all things relating to the realm of creativity, M+R is built upon three foundational pillars - the first being the pillar of interior design, the second being the pillar of historic preservation, and the third being the pillar of all things en masse to one's lifestyle.
Together, these pillars guide an appreciation and respect of space and time, people and places. Often unattributed to each other, these three entities unite at the M+R Studio, allowing us to bring you the most of any design, landmarks, and/or life moment projects. We find that when the creative powers of the world are welcomed to join together in unassuming avenues, the most exciting and unexpected of results blossom.
We meet! This initial interview is where we discuss the parameters of your project, budget, expectations, and I get a feel for your style! If you have a historic property that we are doing interior work for, please note that in your first email.
With everything we discussed in our interview, M+R will put together a design concept, focused on your design needs, expectations, style, budgetary restraints, etc. This phase results in initial schematic boards, style guide, preliminary samples and more.
Time to review! This first presentation is both the clients and studios opportunity to pose questions, clarify design situations, and discuss more refined details.
After our first presentation, with updated notes and reviewed/approved design plans/products, M+R moves on to Design Development, where we begin to finalize the nitty gritty of your interiors project.
Once the nitty gritty has been approved and our clients have seen their interior dreams brought to life on paper, we move on to final documents, beginnings of installation and/or construction phases.
Most projects don't come to fruition over night - and thats okay! Many projects take time to bring to life, through construction and installation phases. During this time, M+R manages the contractors, vendors, and installers to ensure your dream is brought to life accurately, and as was designed.
